UCI World Cup, round 4 – Walbrzych, Poland
After a a few days with Hannes and the crew in Chemnitz, we drove to Walbrzych in Poland on Friday. The venue for the world cup was a really nice country park with a castle in the middle. The sections were laid out through the grounds and had a great mix of both man made and natural sections. I had a pretty good ride after having a couple days of rest and I finished in 10th. I had two silly 5’s on the first lap and one in the second lap and I missed the final (top 8) by just 5 points! But it was good enough to keep me ranked in 8th place for the final round in Pra Loup in two weeks time!
Rick had a big crash in the first lap, nearly nocking down a big old tree, and unfortunately finished in 9th place. Janine placed 4th in the Women Elite category which was a solid result for her first international season.
